The Lord Combustion Services team have made it into the media spotlight with an appearance in a leading business publication ahead of the firm’s 40th anniversary.
Lord are featured in a profile in Black Country Business, published by the Express & Star group, covering the company’s growth story and recent success.
Managing director Stuart Smith, who will be celebrating his 20th year with the business this May, is interviewed in the article.
Among the topics for discussion is Lord’s push on sustainability. Stuart says: “We are working towards net zero as a company and helping customers to be more efficient by making their plant more economical and giving them advice.”

Launched in March 1982, Oldbury-based Lord Combustion Services serve more than 1000 customers in the West Midlands including NHS sites, schools and Edgbaston cricket ground.
Operating from its base in Dudley Road East, Lord has taken on a number of large installation contracts while continuing to grow its customer base. Lord has been recognised as a leading Black Country business, winning two top prizes at the 2021 Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards, as well as the sustainability trophy at the West Midlands Business Masters Awards.
With a strong order book, Lord are looking ahead to more success having grown revenues and profits during the challenging Covid-19 pandemic. Staffing levels have risen to nearly 50 employees.
Since it was formed, Lord Combustion Services has progressed from originally being a mechanical contractor specialising in service and commissioning of gas and oil-fired equipment to now supporting customers across all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services including renewable technologies.
